Frequently Asked Questions

When you book an adventure with Caribbean Alibi Boat Charters, you know your experience will be the best. Please call us if you have any additional questions. We can't wait to have you on board!

How long are typical boat trips and where can we go?

A normal boat trip with Caribbean Alibi is approximately 8 hours long. Caribbean Alibi Boat Charters can guide you on the best spots in the Caribbean or you can put together your ideal day. Locations include the US Virgin Islands, such as St. Thomas, St. John, Water Island, Hassel Island, and Buck Island, or the British Virgin Islands, such as Jost van Dyke, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Norman, Peter, Cooper, and Ginger Island.

Where do we meet?

Please meet us 15 minutes before your scheduled launch time on the east end at Compass Point Marina.

What's the cancellation policy?

We have a 5 day cancellation policy.

What if it rains?

We Do Not cancel for rain. When you monitor the local weather, it calls for a 30% chance of rain every day. A typical rain storm passes quickly here and our captains do their best to navigate around the weather. In the event we do have a major storm, Caribbean Alibi will make the call to reschedule or cancel and we will make that call always airing on the side of caution as safety is our #1 priority.

What is included on the boat?

Calico Jack comes with two coolers, snorkel gear for 10 people, and a custom, state of the art stereo system that connects using either Bluetooth or an aux cord for you to play your favorite tunes.

What should we bring?

Please bring sunscreen (cream only, not spray), towels, ice, snacks and any beverages you would like on your trip. We can stop for lunch at one of our famous local beach restaurants, so please bring money for lunch and souvenirs.

What should we not bring?

Please do not bring glass containers or spray sunscreen. Spray sunscreen will stain the boat.

Are fishing charters available?

Fishing trips are purely weather permitting. We do not book fishing trips more than 4 days in advance due to weather patterns changing. We want to make sure we take you offshore in safe conditions. Fishing trips are custom only, and additional fees may apply.

Do I need a passport?

You will need a passport to visit the British Virgin Islands from the US Virgin Islands. This will also incur a customs fee as well. This fee is $85 per person to enter the BVI and $5 per person to return to the US. Please bring this in cash if you plan to visit the BVIs as we have to clear into the BVIs as well as back into the USVIs upon our return.

What is included in the cost?

A day trip aboard Calico Jack (34' Regulator) will cost $900 for a trip in the USVI and $1300 for a trip in the BVI. A day trip aboard Anne Bonny (40' Statement) will cost $1400 in the USVI and $1800 in the BVI. Prices are for up to 6 people, which includes the captain’s fee. For each additional person over 6 and up to 10 there is a $100 charge. Fuel is an additional cost and is calculated based on the trip. Alibi has a fuel reader on board, ensuring that we charge you accurately. Customs is $85 per person if we visit the British Virgin Islands.
